Geometric & Tartan Carpets by Fells

In this month’s piece, we look at Fells Carpets who aim to fuse high-fashion with the latest colour tones. Fells are based in Yorkshire and enjoy a long history, over 100 years, of making carpets. They are a relatively new addition to the Archway Carpets canon of carpets, and we are glad to have them on board. They sell a great range of plain carpets and patterned, and we are going to focussing here on the latter. If you are looking for bold tartan or geometrically designed carpets in the latest most stylish colourways; then Fells is the company for you.

In the midnight hour…Rebel Yell by Fells

We start with their Regent Moderns collection “made with resilient polypropylene yarn which has been heat set for improved long-lasting appearance retention and performance. With a fine velvet finish, this carpet is the height of opulence. Its fibre is fade-resistant, stain-resistant and bleach cleanable”. For families with young children, it means you do not have to dispense style over practicality. Their carpets are durable and very easy to clean. With Fells, you can still have a stylish carpet which can weather anything a young family can bring throw at it, or bring in from outside.

More, more, more…Rebel Yell carpet on hallway & stairs

This great geometric design comes in four colourways: the carpet pictured above is called Tubescape Rebel Yell. Like the hexagonal design, we will see shortly, it arguably takes inspiration from the 1920s, particularly the art deco movement. Art Deco was known for combining modern styles with fine craftsmanship and rich material to communicate luxury, glamour and exuberance, which is clearly evident in these carpets.

Hexagonal Design Carpets

Say it six-fold with Fell’s Citadel Starlight

Moving on to their Citadel Starlight from the same collection, it uses concentric hexagons in its design to create something very stylish indeed. This design is available in five colourways seen below and is made with resilient polypropylene yarn.

It is, of course, a personal choice, but to have these kinds of designs throughout the whole home could be a little too much for the eye. Ideally, these carpets work great in one room or space where you want to make a statement. To encourage flow in your home, a colour could be pulled out of the patterned carpet and used in any plain coloured flooring leading into the room.

Tartan Carpets

Here’s to the Tartan by Fells

If you are looking for tartan carpet for your home, Fells supply several collections with each one including at, at least, five different colourways. Below, we have an example from their Castle Bay collection, again made with polypropylene. Tartan carpets work great on stairs, landings and hallways due to the lines leading the eye through the home.
